In this series, the image does not fully reveal itself. Floral forms emerge only partially, suspended within fields of gold where negative space becomes an active presence rather than a backdrop.

The works move between appearance and disappearance, resisting fixed interpretation. Gold functions not as ornament, but as a reflective surface absorbing projection of memory and silence.

What remains is less a depiction than a trace: an invitation to dwell in the space where perception slows and meaning begins to dissolve.

August Langhout, born in Sneek and raised in the Netherlands, developed his artistic vision through years of dedication to photography. Inspired by Impressionism and the natural world, he creates intuitive, emotionally layered images that explore color, reflection, and texture. By merging multiple photographic layers into a single poetic composition, his work captures the rhythm and transience of nature. Each image invites the viewer into a moment of stillness and contemplation, where emotion and beauty converge and the everyday is transformed into something timeless.
