I believe that feelings towards one's homeland, where one's roots lie, are always deeply ingrained in the heart. In countries that have welcomed immigrants, communities form in each locality, passing on the culture and customs of their homeland.
In Manhattan's East Village, a community formed by immigrants from Ukraine still exists today.
Many residents have never visited their homeland, learning of it only through stories passed down from parents or grandparents.
In every expression captured in these photographs of people attending festivals, one can see the nostalgia for their homeland.

I worked as a photographer at a photography studio specializing in commercial advertising for a long time, but after retiring I moved away from colour photography using digital equipment and am now concentrating on creating works using analog photography, a method I have been familiar with since my youth.
