Photographed during the Penghu Ocean Fireworks Festival in Taiwan, this series captures the biological quality of the moment fireworks bursts into light.
Rather than documenting the event as one-time spectacle, I wanted to offer a new perspective of seeing fireworks. When photography turns the fleeting into the eternal, it creates a space where the inorganic become lifeforms.
Shot on 35mm film, the unpredictability of analog film giving each image a raw, dreamlike intimacy.
