This photograph was captured in December 2024, above the Arctic Circle, in Finland. To me, this group of trees standing on a small piece of land at the edge of a lake is a visual metaphor of how we are all interconnected. When the environment is under pressure, so are we. The choices we make in the more densely populated southern areas have an impact on the less populated northern ones. In the end, everyone, everywhere, is affected by climate change to some degree.
