Jeanne is a unit of two Japanese artists. In the city of Tokyo, two women from different backgrounds had one thing in common: they wanted to live alone. The duo interviewed 30 women about their turning points, from which they weave together documentary and tableau to colorfully interpret the ambiguous aspects of memories and emotions that cannot be expressed in words. The episodes are sometimes grim, sometimes funny and humorous. The artists' intention is to focus on and visualize an environment that is often overlooked by women in contemporary Japanese society.

After obtaining a degree in Japanese literature from Atomi Junior College, she studied at the Faculty of the Arts at Kyoto University of the Arts. While working as a commercial photographer, she has recently been actively producing her own work. Her work investigates the role of women in our contemporary society and the relationship between their minds and bodies. She seeks for unique interpretation of photography which combines both documentary and tableau.
Since 2023, she has launched a duo collective called "Jeanne" with Naoko Ishii and is working in parallel.
