Salt Lace over Salar De Uyuni Chile

I was surprised to be able to shoot such unusual beauty in the brightest part of the day. In high sun at the Salar de Uyuni, Bolivia, I was amazed to see the beautiful delicate lace of saIt drawing my eye across the low cover of water. Although September was the dry season there was just enough water settled in some parts for a beautiful but delicate reflection of the full white billowing clouds.

I grew up on a farm in Australia, where I often witnessed the power of nature, both the good and the bad. I sometimes had mixed feelings that nature could be both beautiful and brutal at the same time, but it always left me in awe.
I then came to Melbourne where I worked as a designer but was interested in photography from early on. I see patterns, lines, colours and shapes that change in different lights and I take shots to forever set a place card in my memory.
I find the world is full of opportunities to capture special instances in time, in different lights, not always seen by others.
