The photo was taken from a pedestrian bridge around Momoyamadai station in Osaka, Japan. It captured a rare moment of traffic congestion in which trains from opposite directions came at the same time. It’s a single shot (not a composite image).

Pamela Chiang is a Taiwan-born photographer, shaped by a multicultural upbringing across Canada and the UK, and now based in Japan. Her work explores the quiet tension between nature and human presence, as well as the fragile boundary between memory and time.

Moving between cities and remote landscapes, she seeks moments where the past and future seem to overlap—where stillness carries movement, and absence suggests presence. Through a restrained yet evocative visual language, her images invite viewers to pause, reflect, and reconsider the way we inhabit the world.
