Pro-Palestine students of Fordham set up an encampment inside the lobby of the Lowenstein Center at West 60th Street and Columbus Ave. as a show of solidarity with students at Columbia University and City College. Within several hours they were issued letters of suspension and by 6pm NYPD had cleared the encampment and made several arrests.
Syndi Pilar is a New York based photographer who has been documenting the streets of NYC since the emergence of Covid-19 through present day.
She has had work included in the 2020 Women Street Photographers exhibition at Artspace PS109, the 2020 #ICPConcerned exhibition at the International Center of Photography and the “Hindsight is 2020 – Street Photography in a Tumultuous Year” online exhibit with Photoworks at Glen Echo Park.
She holds an MFA in photography from the School of Visual Arts, and currently has a successful career as an Emmy award winning TV editor.
