The UK’s education system, narrowly focused on exams and marginalising the arts, neglects how creativity enhances vital brain processes. Artistic expression is essential for all children. With 15% of the population being neurodiverse and double that in the arts community, creativity is a lifeline for some gifted young people struggling with traditional educational metrics. This series advocates for recognising and nurturing talents to help every child thrive.
Jayne Jackson is a social-action, empowerment photographer and PhD Researcher. Her work tackling sexual violence has been at the forefront of critical debate in the field of visual criminology. Her other projects, including Herstories and male ballet, often feature theatrical styling, tackle stereotyping, and drive social change. These continue to be featured across a range of exhibitions and publications and have been featured by The BBC, The Guardian, Radio 5Live, Woman’s Own, Yahoo News, Positive News Magazine and The Independent.
