This is a fantasy series that celebrates nature and all its glory. The wonderful structures of trees remind me so much of x-rays of arteries and veins in our bodies, as they reach out to the sun for light. Along with the trees, I have layered so many elements that I use daily in my artwork, the trees, nature, and in this case, a little mixed media, using walls painting and textures I found created over time. The colors take me away from the real world, and lets my thoughts drift towards space, and the world and where do we go while sitting in the country under a tree looking up at the sky.
Stephen Spartana received a BFA in Photography from MICA after 11 years, in and out of undergrad programs, a baseball scholarship, and 3 years working in a steel mill to raise the tuition for art school, graduating in 1983.
The last 35 years have been spent on a commercial photography career. The attention has turned towards his artwork which is where he wants expand his horizons and produce the work he loves.
