This image was captured at Gants Hill Underground Station in London, UK. The underground station was built underneath in the 1930s and the design was inspired by Moscow’s Metro stations. The station was used as an air-raid shelter and a munitions factory during World War II and was completed by London Underground in 1947.
The lower concourse area serves two platforms and has a distinct Art Deco look to it. I took up a position at the far end of the concourse area looking back towards the middle towards the escalators at the back. My main aim was to emphasise the symmetry from this position.
I live in Ayrshire on the west coast of Scotland and my creative journey has evolved over the years. My main interest is architectural photography. Over the past few years I have become more immersed in the Black and White Fine Art genre and predominately focus my time and attention into learning and developing more of my photography in this field.
