The Clyde Auditorium located in Glasgow, UK is a multi-functional venue. As a result of its design it is affectionately known locally as the ‘Armadillo’ due to its overlapping, shell-like structure.
I wanted to get as close to the structure as possible to emphasise its shape and size, therefore I used a 24mm tilt-shift lens to capture the image, shifting the lens vertically over a number of movements. The image was processed in a black and white style with particular attention given to the construction elements of the building in order to create a sense of presence and depth.
I live in Ayrshire on the west coast of Scotland and my creative journey has evolved over the years. My main interest is architectural photography. Over the past few years I have become more immersed in the Black and White Fine Art genre and predominately focus my time and attention into learning and developing more of my photography in this field.
