Between the mountains and ice

The white tailed eagles are a majestic sight in North Hokkaido, they grow in numbers when the ice pack breaks up and they can hunt easily for food. This particular eagle was photographed from a boat on the pack ice with a hand held with a 200mm lens, which allowed me to capture both the bird and the mountains that rose behind them
