Sasi Guztien Gainetik, Laino Guztien Azpitik! (Above all the brambles, Below all the clouds!)

Witches had many names, but they were called "Sorginak" in the Basque Country, in northern Spain. It is there where if you enter the numerous caves that can be found in the Basque mountains, their voices are still heard, lost in time. After drinking their concoctions made out of a mix of several psychedelic plants, they grabbed their brooms, and yelled : " Above all the brambles, Below all the clouds!" as the spell that would allow them to fly to the location of the sabbath were they would join other witches.
They were chased down, tortured and killed, but their legend is very much alive.

Maria Oliveira is a self-taught, emerging Fine Art Photographer born and raised in northern Spain, now based in Seattle. For years she enjoyed the field of landscape and travel photography, but really found her passion when she discovered the potential behind photoshop and fine art compositing. Using herself as the main subject in each photograph she gets to construct her otherworldly reality, often dark, but vibrant, set in a nature world that ultimately connects everything together. It is then when she explores the turmoil of conflicting emotions behind the process of taking control of her own life, only to realize that this is just a journey we are all part of.
