Thereza
The 'Thereza' series is a recovery of the author's great-grandmother, whose existence had been reduced to the sentence of 'dead mother'. Using cyanotype, the artist seeks to materialize the connection with her ancestor, transcending the absence of images and narratives that go beyond her maternal role. Thereza emerges in this work, fluid and mutable, awakening other imaginations.
Daniela Balestrin is a multidisciplinary artist. In her work, she seeks to engage with the web of events that intertwine her daily life, creating narratives that involve the movements of life and imagination, crossing memory and fiction, image and word. Her academic background is in Law [2007] and she worked in the field for 15 years while independently exploring photography. Since 2020, she has embraced photography as her professional pursuit, employing analog and historical techniques in image construction.
