Uyuni - Bolivia

The Salar de Uyuni, located at an elevation of 3663 mt in the Andes Mountains southwest of Bolivia, is the largest salt expanse in the world. This desert territory, characterized by ultra-white salt and cactus-rich islands, was created by the draining of a prehistoric lake and covers nearly 11,000 km². Its lunar landscape can be seen from the central island of Incahuasi, populated by huge cacti.
In 1890 a railroad was inaugurated through Uyuni that was supposed to transport minerals from Bolivia to Chile but was soon abandoned because of technical problems due to altitude.

My passion for tribal people has allowed me to visit several states in India, Asia and Africa to take photo-reportage such as those on the last tattooed women, both Indian and Burmese and Ethiopian tribes. Reportage, however, is not the only photographic genre that excites me but I am generally attracted to everything that strikes me from a photographic point of view.
I teach photography and I am the author of three illustrated books.
My photos have been exhibited in various exhibitions receiving prizes and awards.
