Origin of the flower's name, "cosmos."
In Greek, "cosmos" originally means "the order of the universe.
It is said that a priest who saw the flower named it "cosmos" after the orderly and well-balanced arrangement of its petals.
I began photographing cosmos flowers in an attempt to understand the "order of the universe" from the structure of the cosmos flower.
I had the sensation that the thousands of cosmos flowers I had photographed were overlapping and spiraling together through photomontage.
I believe that the "order of the universe" is destruction and rebirth.
A photographer who uses painting and cyanotype techniques to explore the original meaning of the Cosmos: order, harmony, and beauty.
