The Fürstlich Drehna moated castle is located in Brandenburg (Germany). It is located in the south of the country in Fürstlich Drehna, a district of the city of Luckau in the Dahme-Spreewald district. In 1982, the Schlabendorf-Süd opencast mine destroyed almost half of the 52-hectare park, including the castle pond. The castle itself, which had to serve as a youth prison with its outbuildings, also fell into disrepair. A desolate road network resulting from mining isolated the village from the rest of the world. Drehna was literally surrounded by the opencast mine. Its a IBA Project no. 25
Steffen Reichardt, born in Magdeburg in 1976, has been based in Cottbus, Germany, since 2017.
Travel and multi-day trekking or mountain bike journeys continue to shape his photographic perspective, with the camera as a constant companion along the way.
His work often explores long exposure and subtle digital transformation as expressive tools.
Working across landscape, architectural, and digital art photography, Reichardt’s images are characterized by calm, minimalist compositions that emphasize space, structure, and quiet atmosphere.
