The Morning Mystery of Richmond Park

This series was photographed on a Summer’s day in Richmond Park, England. I love to shoot in these conditions for a sense of the mysterious. The park has around 320 ancient fine oaks and in my opinion is one of the most splendid of the Royal Parks. One of the oldest oaks, The Royal Oak is reputed to be 750 years old, which would date it back to the reign of Edward I. It was only much later that King Charles I established Richmond Park in its present form. Amazingly, the park has barely changed, although it is now surrounded by human habitation, as depicted in Richmond Park, Study 1, 2023.
