The Promenade

The Promenade is an analog photo taken early in the morning, while the fog still hung heavy over the tree-lined promenade. The fog is so dense that even the background disappears, fully removing the scene from any surrounding context. The two main figures can be seen looking off to the left, at something outside the frame. Additionally, the grain of the film and the fog combine to create a Seurat-like aesthetic, making this feel more like a painting than a photograph. All of these factors lend an air of mystery to the photo, leaving it to the viewer's imagination to fill in the blanks.
