In Kenya, over 15% of the population lives on less than €2 a day and there is no Welfare State. This percentage represents millions and millions of people living in total poverty. The non-profit organization "Rise and Shine", based in the province of Verona, has been taking care of the children of Kijwetanga in Kenya since 2005, through a structure that includes a nursery school and a family home in which four mamas, or domestic workers, provide guarantee primary care, including the preparation of meals and home hygiene, for 47 children and young people aged 3 to 18.
