There was a week where my legs felt so jumpy every bedtime it was really hard to sleep. I didn't know that was a symptom of peri-menopause then, it just didn't occur to me at 38. I didn't know that until I saw it on an Instagram post a year or so later, after I'd started following those sorts of accounts to learn more because I'd been told that was probably what was happening. As I lingered on waiting lists to find out what was going on I tried to treat it like a project - research the definitions, the symptoms and use an analytical approach to process things. It's still a work in progress.
