I am attracted to spaces modified by time, and so I carried out this project in abandoned villas in northern Italy. These villas, however, in my eyes were never abandoned and indeed as I was shooting I could feel life returning to these places in the form of different animal species. These new inhabitants, as if with a peaceful vengeance, once we have left the scene, take back spaces in which to live safe away from us.
