At the height of Covid, Nicolo Sertorio began documenting houses of worship in the city of Oakland. After photographing nearly 500, Nicolo and J. Michael Tucker began collaborating, expanding the project to include photographing and interviewing the spiritual leaders of these sacred houses. Together they created Oakland Faith.com, a project which allowed them to peer into the world of modern day religion on a personal level.
This series of images represents the best parts of photography: learning, collaborating, creating, and socializing… the whole gamut. So much work, but nothing but fun!
