The framing of a belief or ‘truth’ can undermine or enforce its validity. On land, the scenery frames our existence, our sense of self, who we are and what we can achieve, Our Truth.
Below water, the framing changes, our mental and physical vulnerabilities are tested. The experience, if endured for long enough, leads to new truths where the industrialised eye can once again see nature as a teacher, asking us to reflect on whether we're the ‘pinnacle of evolution’ or the ones with the most to learn.
I have been exploring the human condition, nature and their cross-over through my work for the last 20 years. Recognising photography’s ability to draw focus on important topics and help form opinion, I have strived to use the medium to create lasting development, restoring the balance of humans in nature.
