Tiles

Portuguese people have been using ceramic tiles to cover the walls of the buildings to prevent water damage. The beautiful tiles were created by artisans and craftsmen through the centuries. World War II didn’t damage the country because Portugal stayed neutral. It was called the city of spies.

I was captivated by the tiles decorating the buildings in Lisbon, Porto, and Braga.
I used Lightroom and Photoshop.
Tiles covering the entire expanse of walls are especially stunning, therefore, I removed urban clutter (lamp posts, parked trucks, wires) to show the mastery in its wholeness.
