Purim in an Orthodox Jewish Community

Purim, a significant Jewish holiday, commemorates the deliverance of the Jewish people in the ancient Persian Empire from the wicked Haman's plot to annihilate them.
Purim is a time for joy and merrymaking. Orthodox Jewish communities engage in a variety of festivities, including dressing up in costumes, exchanging gifts of food (mishloach manot), and preparing a festive meal (seudat Purim). These customs not only foster a sense of unity and joy within the community but also encourage the fulfillment of the mitzvah (commandment) to spread happiness
