Kowanyama ('The Place of Many Waters') is a remote Aboriginal community of approximately 1000 on Cape York Peninsula in far northern Australia.
I made portraits of volunteer residents in a pop up studio during a Rise Arts program in the township in conjunction with a portrait workshop - just in time for Xmas. Here, just seven of the three hundred portraits made.
