Amaro

  • Photographer
    Claudia Hidalgo Vilaseca, Ecuador

Hidalgo takes a photograph, she studies its composition to find the spectrum of colors represented on each plane and manipulates those colors to highlight certain aspects that might otherwise be lost in an image, elements not visible to the naked eye. She uses distinctive hues to elicit a response beyond that which feels familiar—in her photographs, deep reds, rich greens, and sharp blues intervene landscapes in unexpected shapes and spaces, removing any notion of place as fantastic sceneries begin to appear.
