Parasomnia

Parasomnias are manifestations of dissociated sleep states, a mixture of wakefulness and deep sleep. The subject "lives his dreams" as if they were real and therefore tries to escape the danger he may perceive. This condition is commonly associated with auditory, kinesthetic or visual hallucinations as well as impressions of oppression, evil presence and impending death. The subject, unable to articulate sounds and prevent others, most often experiences a feeling of anxiety and fright. These photographs represent my own view of the sleep disorders I experience.
