In 1988 Saddam Hussein ordered a chemical attack against the Kurdish town of Halabja. That day traditional bombs started to fall from the sky in order to break the windows of buildings and enable the gas to enter the houses. 5.000 people perished on that same day, many got sick and in the resulting chaos many children lost contact with their parents forever.
I met one of them, Ahmed. His family mourned him and his name appears on the list of the martyrs.
I met a woman who has been blind ever since. Many years later she testified in court against "Chemical Ali", who dared to insult her.
