Yuan's subjects are young migrant Chinese women she has engaged in New York City. Those incredible women are all foreigners to this country, far away from their homeland and families who must bear isolation, homesickness, language barrels, and sustain the culture shock of a chaotic in an unrelated city. Asian women have been loved, fascinated, judged, labeled, misunderstand, and underestimated. Since the COVID crisis hitting the US, Chinese women are facing more severe discrimination and anxiety. Nevertheless, they still making
voices in different areas want to discover.
Yuan Tang is a New York-based Chinese multidisciplinary artist who moves freely within photography, video, installation, and print.
