The Artistry of Nature

While sheltering in place, I look forward to those times of the day when I take a little break. I walk aimlessly close to home, just taking the time to admire the little things that normally would go unnoticed. Recognizing nature's incomparable talent as an artist, I took upon myself to pay tribute to the plants and trees that enrich our lives so much. While I made it my job to document the reality before me, I recorded my vision of it, colored by the uncertainties of our new way of life.

Eduardo Fujii is a fine art photographer living on the beautiful Monterey Peninsula in California. At an early age, he demonstrated great interest in the arts. He started music lessons at the age of five followed by painting. It wasn’t until late 2006, however, that he turned to photography as a form of artistic expression. Classical music and painting have been part of most of his life and have certainly contributed to the development of a lyrical sensibility that underlies his photography today.

Awards Eduardo has participated in gallery exhibitions at the Center for Fine Art Photography in Fort Collins, Colorado, the Center for Photographic Art, the Cherry Center for the Arts, and Carmel Visual Arts in Carmel, California, the Museum of Monterey and Alvarado Gallery in Monterey, and has received various awards including Spotlight Awards from B&W Magazine and Color Magazine, PX3 Prix de la Photographie, Professional Photographer Magazine, Monochrome Awards, and the International Color Awards. One of Eduardo’s images was selected for the cover of Shadow & Light Magazine. In 2017, Eduardo was awarded Photographer of the Year at the 12th Annual Black and White Spider Awards.
