Bryde’s whales are the smaller version of the giant blue whale. For many years they were one of the most poorly understood baleen whale species. Bryde’s whales are typically seen alone, so photographing two together is unusual. Little is known about their mating and calving behaviour, so it is unclear if this is mating or simply social behaviour.
