Nino

At Jardines de la Reina, Cuba, there is an opportunity to photograph the American Crocodile. Of the 23 species of crocodiles, 6 are highly aggressive, but the American crocodile is not one of them. At the mangroves, the local boatmen call out to the crocodiles, affectionately calling them "Nino", or 'little one' in Spanish. It seemed a little silly at first, but after a good 15 minutes, a 2 meter crocodile cautiously appeared. It took some time for it to get comfortable with me before letting me approach with my camera.
