The Beautiful City

This series is from Moscow. I have tried to show the atmosphere of the streets by focusing on the city's materials, tones and textures. These are the surfaces we see everyday in a city but often overlook. I look for unexpected harmonies within these random combinations of shape and colour. The corners we walk past become the focus of my attention, thus presenting a new version of beauty in the city. These layers reveal the character of a city and how it has changed over time. I spend time in the streets, allow myself time to get to know them, see what they are made of.
