Heidelberg Apotheke (from the series 'Still')

During a time in my life when I have been required to slow down due to treatment for breast cancer, I have had the opportunity to reflect on what is really important in life. I have revisited happy memories, remembered folk who have been and are important to me, and dreamt of new memories I wish to make in the future.
These images are part of a greater body of work entitled 'The Heidelberg Project' inspired by the Apotheke (Pharmacy) Museum in Heidelberg Castle, Germany. They consider the value of slowing down, being still and allowing healing in all its forms.

Annemarie is a fourth generation photographer. Many of her images are made without the aid of a camera. She works solely with historic photographic processes; grinding, heating, stirring and pouring chemicals and hand coating paper, glass and tin. For Annemarie it is an opportunity to spend time outdoors in the garden and sunshine, waiting for images to expose. She enjoys the contemplative nature of these processes, and the inevitable imperfections of a hand made image.
