Baltimore, Maryland, my hometown, has for years been mired in endless cycles of poverty, crime, drug addiction, racial animosity, and ineffective and abusive policing and public policy, but is also full of hope, pride, art, and vibrant vitality. It is portrayed in the media in two dimensions that rarely capture the simple truth of humanity of the people that live there. I hope to help create a more objective portrait of this city, and by doing so show the reality of what America is, and the people and lives behind the issues.
