The Uzbek Festival of Sacrifice, or Eid al-Adha, is very special for the Uzbek people. It is the holiest Islamic holiday, where payers, family and friends are the center. The morning prayers often together with others, men with men and women with women, take place in a mosque or other location, which can be a room next to the graveyard as in Fergana valley. During the day, and in commemoration, bread and other foods are purchased and prepared for the evening. The evening meal is shared with family, friends, and neighbors and stories are told and songs being performed by the children.
