Inuka, Singapore's last polar bear, was put to sleep on humane and welfare grounds, on
April 25, 2018. The 27-year-old animal's health had not improved during its final health
check. It had been suffering from age-related ailments such as arthritis, dental issues
and occasional ear infections for the past five years.
Lim Yaohui (b. 1982) is a photojournalist with The Straits Times in Singapore.
