The Long Walk to Aleppo

On 26th December 2016, a few hundred people assembled in
Berlin to walk to Aleppo in an effort to stop Syrian civilians
suffering the consequences of war. Some 3,000 people joined the
Civil March for Aleppo for a period of time, walking from morning
till evening, carrying white flags. The marchers never knew where
they'd sleep at night, and were grateful to be given a school or
church floor, a haystack, or a bit of land. The marchers reached
the Syrian border in August 2017, where they ended their long
walk.
