Our Forests The Martyrs

In November of 2016, i had the opportunity to be a
photographer for my country's version of Next Top Model
(Cyprus). A couple of months or so before the shoot, we had a
devastating forest fire in Cyprus that was due to smoking. This
image is part of a series that depicts forests as martyrs, victims
of human negligence. The project was done in collaboration
with the fashion department of Alexander College. Following my
concept and guidelines for the gowns, the students created dresses from 100% recyclable material. The dress in the image
was made from recycled brown paper bags and was meant to represent the roots and trunk of a tree.
