Sheila worked in rural development and tourism for 30 years but three years ago decided to leave what she increasingly felt was a self limiting career. Her camera evoked an earlier passion, and has led to the discovery of a more authentic voice and deeper fulfilment.

Sheila is especially drawn to wild country. She loves nature and has alway been intrigued by stories of people and place. Her pictures reflect these interests.

With maturity as her lens Sheila's pictures convey her experience of connection. Portraiture, in the sense of a desire to express something of essence is central to her approach to every subject.
