the photo was taken in Lanzhou, northwest China's Gansu Province
on Lailat al-Qadr of the Ramadan of 2016, which shows muslims
praying peacefully in the night to their God, Allah for mercy,
forgiveness, and salvation. Lailat al-Qadr marks the time when the
Koran’s first verses were revealed to the Islamic prophet
Muhammed. It is also believed that this night marks their fate in
the following year. Laylat al-Qadr is most likely to be held on one
of the last 10 days of month of Ramadan in the Islamic calendar. I
took this photo with a 24mm lens behind a folding screen in the
corner of the mosque through a half-inch crack in order not to be
noticed and not to disturb these muslims and also to show the
muslims in China have the rights and environments to practice
their beliefs peacefully with religious freedom.
