"women in the dark" is a series of silhouette photography with
Black and White , which stands for ‘Sexual Right’, targeting for
advocating of transgender women’s self -recognition and self-
exploration through different religions, sex orientations. The
series want to make a space for transgender women to make
announcements of their own body’s stories.This series aims to
explore women’s complexity and constructivism behind the simple
subjective female body figures in mainland China.
Lyu Rui, a Chinese erotic photographer and writer, born and raised in China, living in Paris. Her works often explores human bodies, LGBT group, BDSM culture and Female Sexuality.
In 2016, LYU RUI created an art project called "Hot Pink" ( sex rights )
The project is collecting monologues about "female masturbation" from female and queer. During last two years, Lyu Rui has been shooting and interviewing in different countries in Asia and Europe. “Hot Pink” intends to document exploration of body from individuals, explore the complexity and constructivism behind the bodies.
