This work was performed in the ICU of the Hospital "Juan Ramón
Jiménez" for 2 years. After capturing more than 1,000 photographs, I
wanted to document the routine and daily activities of the health
workers who work in this complicated place, I set myself two
conditions; That no patient could be recognized, respecting their
privacy, and that a scene of an overly cruel technique or activity did not
appear.
On the other hand, because of my work as a nurse in the ICU, I have
very present death, since I have witnessed very sad situations and
authentic family dramas. Difficult to endure trying to be alien and even
being part of my daily routine. So I can say, I found the in the
photography to some extent, a way to deceive death, by the magic that
has to immortalize, never better said, people, times and places.
