Katrin Dohse in a Field of Flowers, 2016
The State of North Carolina plants lovely fields of flowers along major highways each
Spring. As I watched them bloom I was drawn to working with model Katrin Dohse using some
of the post-production manipulation I had been applying to my other work with her.
Late in the day, when shadows from nearby trees spread out over the flowers, Katrin and I
arrived with a ladder, a camera and some material to place beneath her on the damp ground.
The shoot was all I had hoped it would be and over in an hour. It was a fine departure
from the Obscure Reveal and Radical Play shoots that had occupied our work before and
after this shoot.
