Instant South is born as an homage and comes from the expression by A. Tarkovski, Instant
Light. This modified expression brings together a certain way of looking and the interest
for the identity of a land. We have been building it up as a work, very much like field
work, and is about the transformation of the landscape on the coasts. How these coastal
areas have been changed by the presence of architectonic elements that rule and tension
the landscape! We are working on a project that has a deliberately unreal colour –which
has been identified with reality, could precisely in this case be an instrument to express
just the opposite, the unreal, as these transvestite scenes appear before our eyes-.
Transforming the colour, it indicated a personal desire, felt as our own through the
camera, to come closer to the phenomenon of landscape degradation.
