This is an extraordinary pilgrimage that only exist in Taiwan, or it is
also called the Taiwan's version of carnival. The ranks in this picture is
the 虎爺 from Chiayi Cyhcg Fentain Gong (嘉義新港奉天宮), and 虎爺
loves to eat firecrackers the most! It is said that if the firecrackers is
louder and more splendid in one year, it means that the luck in that
year will become better and better.

The child in this picture who is holding the drum is leading the way of
where the ranks should go. And the dust which is covered on his face
is the trace of "吃炮". It is believed that if the firecrackers is bombing
louder and heavier the face will become darker and cover with dust.
