This is a still life series, which was built on the concept of
construction/deconstruction. Quite literally, I used actual and
basic tools that are used to construct and deconstruct the
structures around us. The tools became characters, and were put
into different scenarios, which one can face when in a relationship.
The series is looking at the constructs and deconstructs of
relationships, from the moment of meeting someone, a lover, we
begin to construct another world with two, while at the same time
others worlds are being deconstructed. There is a constant notion
of building and unbuilding in our relationships throughout life.

Jessica Sheila recently relocated to Phuket, Thailand from Toronto, Canada following her studies in Paris, France. Her work focuses and reflects on daily life, dwelling into everyday normalities, fleeting time and the ways in which people interact with their chosen surroundings. Since completing the photography program she has been fending for herself out in the 'real world' of the photo industry and evolving in her style as she experiences life. Curious to observe and understand the world around her, she is often found wandering the streets with a camera hung over her shoulder.
